"Doin Time" is the last song on Sublime's third album. It was recorded in 1996, but didn't become a hit until 2 years later shortly after lead singer Brad Nowell died of a drug overdose. After which the band broke up.
"Doin Time" is about a cheating girlfriend, whose infidelities and poor treatment of her boyfriend makes him feel like he is in prison.
The song reached #87 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #28 on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks charts.
