You are at the grocery store and you hear a person cough in the next aisle over, you probably think you're safe since there is a rack of food between you, but this video shows just how unsafe you are.
The best way to avoid getting sick is to avoid public areas as much as possible. Plan your shopping trips for when it is really necessary. Just ran out of q-tips? Probably not essential. Ran out of toilet paper, soap and milk probably a good time to plan a trip, but when you do go out buy enough stuff to keep you out of the store for the next week or two, but don't hoard.
Buy foods that can be frozen or have a long shelf life and avoid wasting money on snack foods that offer no nutritional value. Examples of fruits that have a long shelf life include oranges, apples, and grapefruit. Vegetables like potatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage, and squash are great choices. Meat can be frozen and usually thaw in the refrigerator in about a day.
Keep in mind the CDC is now recommending people wear cloth masks when they go out and there are lots of different videos online to show you how to make one if you don't already know. Many require no sewing.
Stay healthy!
