Kylie Jenner signed over 51% of her companies Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin to Coty, Inc for $600 million.
Coty, Inc. is an American cosmetic, haircare, skin care and fragrance brand. Cody, Inc. owns 77 brands from luxury brands like Gucci, Balenciaga and Guess to drugstore brands like Sally Hanson, Clairol and Rimmel. They even took a leap into the direct marketing world acquiring 60% of the social media driven peer-to-peer cosmetics company Younique in 2017 only to end their contract in 3rd quarter 2019 after less than expected returns.
Kylie Cosmetics made Kylie Jenner the youngest-ever self made billionaire according to Forbes. Jenner started Kylie Cosmetics in 2015 with minuscule overhead and as the sole owner all profits went stratight into her pocket. Her considerable reach as the youngest member of the Kardashian/Jenner clan has made it easy for her to market her products through social media. With consistant launch day sell outs under her belt for both her cosmetics and skin care lines her company looks really good to a company like Cody, Inc. Jenner will still be the face of the company and will be involved in all the creative.
"This partnership will allow me and my team to stay focused on the creation and development of each product while building the brand into an international beauty powerhouse," Jenner said.
